I was quite melancholy about this realization, and so I looked for Nightcore Players for my computer or phone.
#DONT CALL ME UP NGITHCOEE FOR FREE#
And the bummer is almost any Nightcore song you want to listen to for free will be found on YouTube! Most people who put up these videos do it without mal intent, but I scoured the Youtube copyright page and Nightcore does fall into its “no no” category. The downside of the Nightcore phenomenon is that, even though the songs are speed edited, any song put up on YouTube without the artist’s okay is a copyright violation. Once you start toying around with the NMP, you’ll get a good idea of artists that may work and how high/low you want the pitch and tempo to be. I do agree that female vocalists usually sound better than male vocalists on the Nightcore Music Player, but some of the most epic songs I’ve heard are from artists like One Republic, 30 Seconds to Mars, Thousand Foot Krutch, Switchfoot and Forty Foot Echo. But that’s alright, and I think it’s sorta silly to think only these three music genres can be turned into Nightcore. Not being a dance/trance/techno fan, Nightcore purists would put me in the woefully-ignorant first camp of the definition. And maybe my energetic, upbeat and very quirky soul gelled with it, too 🙂 For whatever reason, the hyper beat and the twists in pitch totally hit the sweet spot in my ears. I came across it while surfing the ‘chillstep’ genre and I was addicted within listening to a few songs. I have yet to do more thorough research on why this is, but a discussion on concerning nightcore/anime is the best explanation I’ve found.ĭespite the confusion about its correct definition, I have become a huge fan of Nightcore. When you check fanbases out on Youtube, almost every uploaded song you see has anime art for its background.

(For more information on “Real” Nightcore and the band, check out Nightcore Universe) You can also find the band on I-Tunes for a comprehensive list of their albums.

What started out as a school project later turned into the guys creating albums of speed edit tracks. Some will say that only modified songs from the dance/trance/techno genre are true Nightcore, and the idea that you can modify a song from any genre (pop, punk or rock for example) and call it Nightcore is just silly.ĭetails are a bit scant, but it is generally agreed upon that the name “Nightcore” came from the Norwegian duo of the same name. However, this easy definition has been subjected to a good amount of scrutiny. In this definition, any song from any genre can be “Nightcored”. (Songs with this decrease are usually dubbed ‘male versions’) This manipulation can be done with basic sound editors, and many avid Nightcore fans will upload these modified tracks onto Youtube. The simplest (but not politically correct in the eyes of some) definition is that Nightcore is a music subgenre where songs’ tempo are sped up and their pitch is dramatically increased, although a decrease in pitch can work, too. And don’t even get me started on the debate whether it should be considered a music genre of its own right or not! Explaining what it is can be tricky enough. Take a look around the net and you’ll see a lot of debate about Nightcore. (P) DeathNetStudios 2013 Nightcore: A Working Definition
