As soon as my touch ups cure I will bench test it and see how it does and I have a spare scope I can mount till I find a Ithaca marked one.I ran a couple tubes (15 shots) through it just standing at about 25-30 yards and shot really nice groups at a pretty rapid pace, wanted to make sure the action worked well. This 72 shoots as nice as those, but the front sight is not as fine as those others. I grew up with a bolt action Remington and a bolt action Winchester. If anyone has a spare one lying around let me know!! I haven't shot a lot of lever action.22's, but I would definitely say it's more accurate than the model 49. Now to find a period Ithaca Gun scope for it!!! They picture one in the 1976 catalog.

They offer videos for tips on how to use it and they are very good.Been working on and off on this for too long, but oh well. Used their Aluma-Hyde finish on the receiver and trim pieces. French red and Brownell's satin spray gunstock finish. I used my tried and true methods on the wood. I didn't reblue the barrel or cocking lever. Ithaca- That is what I was thinking but was not sure as it is a.22 mag.
